In commemoration of Universal Children’s Day, some 120 young people from different ethnic groups visited Albanian Mosques and Serbian Orthodox Monasteries, as part of an awareness raising activity promoting respect for religious sites among the youth in Kosovo. Rick Spruyt reports for World Vision from Kosovo.

It has been almost 13 years since President Bill Clinton played the saxophone given to him by then President of Czechoslovakia Vaclav Havel, at the stage of the Reduta Jazz Club in Prague. The two presidents shared the stage once again last Wednesday, this time at the Alfred Lerner Hall of Columbia University in New York, where they had an hour long public discussion titled Challenges of New Democracies.

Based on the observation that in post-conflict countries the attention is usually paid to violations of human rights rather than to needs of victims, the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), a New York City based NGO committed to assisting countries where human rights are severely jeopardized, recently launched The Handbook of Reparations that has the unique approach to the question of justice.
